Romans 8:28 The Word Works

Romans  8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Pain can become a prison, locking people into it cells forever. Distorting the facts and the truth of God, it will try to keep you locked up forever.

Pain is very real, and very real to the one experiencing it. It is tormenting, its hurts down to the core of the soul. It causes you to always keep your attention on it. And when you don't, it reaches out from nowhere and grabs you and shakes you back into its reality. Sleep is not a blocker of its outreach. Meds can only do so much. Sometimes meds lock you into a sense of false security.

Thinking that's it is over, you find out very quickly that it is still there.

But God...

Pain like everything else has a time limit that God allows it to have.

I am not making light of pain, lest I fall into the snare of hypocrisy. I am saying, he that comes to God must believe that "God is", and a rewarded of them that seek him diligently.

The word of God has to become first. The word has to become the carrier of change. The word has to be made a constant reality, which is and within itself very difficult.

People with good intentions will tell you to come off of the meds. That comes from a person who has never been acquainted with pain.

Take the meds in Jesus' name. Let God bring you off by faith, by his will, and not by the good intentions of others.

God's way is the best way. He often shows up when the enemy intent is to destroy you. God is there to change the course of your life. God is always there working out the good of a messed up situation working it out in your favor.

When people say it’s all over, God says I am not finished with you. I have a mission for you to do. Regardless as to what you feel or how much you think you can function in your adversity

We are the called according to what he has purposed for and through us. We call on him to save us from what the enemy tries to put on us. Jesus came to heal our pain and those are his words. So we can stand only them.

Proverbs 3:23-26 Sweet Sleep

Proverbs  3:23-26
When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.
25 Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.
26 For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.

Are you being attacked by the enemy in your sleep or when you lay down to sleep?

Do worries possess your thoughts?

Are you being held hostage to fear in the night hours?

I will not get into a long discussion from the perspective of clinical or psychological fear. I want to deal specifically with fear that causes us not to sleep at night.

Perhaps when getting into bed we allow our minds to wander into some thought of pleasantness. All is well. There is perhaps a small smile on our face. All of a sudden, out of nowhere dread seems to permeate our whole being. Our imagination begins to go in to high gear. All we can see in our mind's eye is an impending danger. We can not move mentally forward. We become imprisoned by a single thought. Our mind races to rehearse a mental scenario repeatedly. We cannot stop this distressing process. Before we realize, many hours have passed and we have loss much needed rest and sleep.

Perhaps we have heard some bad news concerning a friend or loved one. Perhaps we are having some financial or health issues or issues with someone who have turned against us. The process is the same. We become imprisoned by a single thought that we rehearse in our minds repeatedly until fear possesses our total being.

It is enough to have genuine concern about an issue that consumes us, but night was made for resting and recuperating from the toils of the day. To be tormented in the night hours when we need rest, is against all things natural.

To toil at night when we need rest is against our health and well being.

This proverb says we should have sweet sleep!

What is sweet sleep?

For me sweet sleep is sleep without worry, fear, or stress. I awake feeling renewed and refreshed. I stretch off the night and began a new day ready for a new beginning, a new victory, a new and refreshed mind for anything I may encounter. Anything! It is a rebooting of my being, leaving the old unusable for yesterday, and to build on today for today.

We can't do that if we have been bogged down with stress and worry through the night.

The proverbial writer says, the LORD will be your confidence, which suggests we have lost confidence in what he says in his word.

Finding confidence in God's ability to protect and keep us, affects our sleep and how we think at night. God is our protection from everything. Our ability to trust that he has our best interest at heart is where our thoughts should rest.

The enemy of God adds to our mental discussion. We actually carry on a conversation with fear, rather that in prayer with God or meditating on the wisdom of the ages. Let us put away the practice of consulting with fear over God's word. Let’s grab a hold of confidence rather than casting away our confidence in the Lord.

Psalm 119:24 The Sweet Word

Psalm 119:24 GNT
Your instructions give me pleasure; they are my advisers.

God is concerned about our every success as well as our every failure.

He provides a word to us at the exact time we need it. A faithful servant listens for the voice of God constantly. This servant wants to know the instruction of the Master. The Master knows what we have need of long before we ask.

Because we follow the voice of God we have minimal struggles. He directs our steps. Yes our steps. It is very worriesome trying to follow after the words of the well intentioned. They mean well but they only know so much. Following God's word always pays off.

Ecclesiastes 3:14 God Knows More

Ecclesiastes 3:14

I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.

God has performed no act without it being a part of his plan. All creation from beginning to end has been under the direction of the master builder, God. The course of the cosmos, all things from 88 constellations to the Terra firma , in all complexities from beginning to end has functioned according to the authority of God.

The functioning of our natural bodies is according to one ruler of all things. He from the beginning has set the course of all things that exist in this and all worlds. When God speaks, he speaks according to his foreknowledge he envisioned from it's raw state of nothingness to when it ceases to exist from one one or many others.

We must revere a God that has no contemporaries or colleagues. He alone is ruler of the universe. I am grateful that man has no voice in the matter to control God.
When we bring this verse to where we are. Whether we are prosperous or without, whether we are enjoying totally wonderful heath or infirmed, or whatever our position in life,  it is within the plan of God to change any mal state you may find yourself. God is more willing than we are. It is in his plan.

Lamentations 3:25 Just Wait

Lamentations  3:25

The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

Growing up, my dad would give us an allowance every Saturday morning.
Here's your dollar, don't spend it all in one place. Many times he would call us so that we could get it from him. There were times he wouldn't say a word. He did not want us to think that it was a free ride. He wanted us to appreciate him and what he was doing for us. So my brother and I would ask, do you have an allowance for us this week, Daddy? He would smile and say, here's your dollar, and don't spend it all in one place. We would say, thank you Daddy.

Seeking the Lord is not just about what you want from him, for he will give you the desires of your heart. Seeking the Lord involves us appreciating what he does for us.
Many things he does without us asking.  We sometimes become insensitive to his love for us. We expect him to just be there.

Let us make it a habit to appreciate the small things God do for us. We can't allow ourselves to become so stiff that we are producing the things when wants from us. I remember hearing a preacher say, a thanking man is thinking man. I tell you a thanking man sees farther do the road  In every thing give thanks  unto God, for it is the will of concerning you.

The process of waiting is often difficult because doubt, unbelief, and discouragement that comes our way.  Waiting involves the voices of fear, doubt, unbelief and discouragement ever speaking in our minds. These voices are short circuited by us standing on the word of God and the resolve that God will do what his word promises he will do. These voices can only be drowned out by the word of God. Just as sure as you are living they are going to drown out the word. The resistance of their voices are thwarted by a louder voice in an by the word.

Keep waiting, he will surely come.

Matthew 16:19 Whatsoever Means Whatsoever

Matthew  16:19

And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Whatsoever(whatever)?
Yes whatsoever!

No matter how great or small, no matter how insignificant or how massive, the word is whatsoever.
The above verse is one of the scriptures that I stand on when I am in need of health and healing. I believe there are promises that we can stand on and God will honor our faith in his word. God is resolute in his promises. He honors his word.

Jude 1:24 You Don't Have To Fall

Jude  1:24

Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

You don't have to fall.

You don't have to:
Fall short       Fall behind
Fall apart       Fall into temptation
Fall below     Fall over
Fall down      Fall for anything
Fall out          Fall from grace
Fall prey to    Fall on hard times
Fall under      Fall on stony ground

He is able to keep us from falling.

He has the ability to see the fall long before it happens. He is able to prepare a safer way for us to travel, walk or reside. He is able!

When speaking about American comic superheros, what makes them special is their superhuman abilities. They are able to do feats of physical and mental strength that regular humans cannot do. Their abilities can't hold a candle to who God is to us. In a related scripture, it says, He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think. He abilities can not be measured, for there is no instrument vast enough to measure God's ability. The ability spoken in this verse is that he is able to keep us from falling. A God who is concern about our lives will protect us from any and all falls, great and small. He will keep us from hurt and harm.

This scripture says that he is able to present us faultless. This in and of itself is not possible to the theology of some. Some people would rather have this scripture say it a little different. Without fault is without fault. They quickly point out that it does not say without sin. I would to God that they would stop trying to make the word say what they want it to say. God has the strength and the might to keep us from falling and present us faultless. We serve a mighty God, to whom nothing is impossible.

Genesis 50:20 The Evil Plan Destroyed

Genesis 50:20 GNT

You plotted evil against me, but God turned it into good, in order to preserve the lives of many people who are alive today because of what happened.

God goes before a us and makes the crooked place straight and the rough place smooth.
God determines the full scope of our futures long before the present is manifested. At the forefront of our existence he has with great care prepared our steps. He, being resolute in thought set the course of events, knowing the adversaries we would face. He determined by his fore-knowledge of all things to foil any attempts of the enemy and to thwart his plans for our lives. God by his foreknowledge not only considered me, but also everyone else including those in the future.

John 1:1 We Have God's Word On It

John  1:1

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

God literally is saying, you have my word on all things made and all things created.
He is saying, you have my word on all things life and all things light.
God is saying, I created all and stamped all things with my word.

Many would make doctrinal statements with these verses, and yet this is larger than doctrines.
God is the author and finisher of our faith. He makes all things by the word of his power. The word and his power are inseparable even as the word is inseparable from God.

What is so amazing within the context of this scripture, He came to those that he would choose for his people and the did not receive him. Although the world was made by him. However to as many that received him, to them he gave power to become the sons  of God.
You have his word on it.

Matthew 8:2-3 Will You Heal Me?

Will You  Heal Me?

Matthew 8:2-3

Amplified Bible (AMP) And behold, a leper came up to Him and, prostrating himself, worshiped Him, saying, Lord, if You are willing, You are able to cleanse me by curing me. And He reached out His hand and touched him, saying, I am willing; be cleansed by being cured. And instantly his leprosy was cured and cleansed.

For someone who has been cast down, plagued by hopelessness and despair; for someone who no longer see the joy of a new day; one question arises from the depths of their soul.

When pain is a part of someone's everyday; when out of someone's soul  arises the cry I can't go any farther, one question arises from the core of existence.

When the enemy of God attacks the mind and body and the spirit of the of the redeem of the Lord; when someone has done all they know to do, one question arises from the cornered place.

Will You  Heal Me?

I believe your word and I believe your promises. I know that you are my healer. I have seen others made whole.
Healer of all disease, changer of destiny, God of manifested salvation, healing and deliverance,
I bow down in complete submission to you.
If you are willing, I know that you are able to turn everything around and "heal me".
Out of the richness and abundance of his mercy comes the awaited word.

Jesus reaches out and says,

(I Am) willing.

Immediately  the destiny is changed forever.

I AM HEALED

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus, The True Authority

Hebrews 13:8

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

A God by any other name just would not be God.
This for me is not a doctrinal treatise, but a fact of living.
I am kept by his grace and mercy, restored by his power divine.

Made known to us is the mystery of godliness. His place or position here on this earth as master and Lord of all things.

He is my wealth and prosperity. He is my health and welfare. Ruler and guider of my way, he makes my pathway clear. King of kings, and Lord of lords, he rules this world, but more specifically he rules my destiny.

One called, the "Evil One" tried to test his authority. He soon learned where true authority resided.
Men in history, have tried to be great and make light of his authority. They made statrments of their greatness over his greatness. They all failed miserably.

We know him by his love for us. We know him by his taking our place on a cross. He arose with all power in his hand.
You cant , in some places mention his name with out being offensive to some. However you can call on any other. There many other gods, but one true and living God by which is known to the world as Jesus Christ.
It is the name by which we pray and see results. It is the name whereby we are saved. It is the name that unlocks all doors. It is the name that carries the authority of the universe.

2 Corinthians 4:17 Questions

2 Corinthians 4:17

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

Moments... Q&A

Q: Was there a moment when all of this adversity almost overwhelmed you.
A: Yes, I came to my wits end and could not go any further. I became desperate for an answer. I had to seek God.

Q: Did any of your friends help you?
A: They tried, but no one seemed to care. It wasn't their issue. They were not facing my dilemma. There were those who were concerned like Job's friends were in the bible.

Q: Did your friends help you at all?
A: They got me to see that it was Jesus I had to depend on, and no one else. Like Job, in all my appointed time I had to wait until my change came .

Q: Were your family there for you?
A: Well...they didn't want to see me in pain, but..when it came down to it, I had to depend on Jesus. Sometimes in this world we think that others are walking with us. Well...sometimes we have to walk alone.

Q: Was there anybody there for you?
A: Yes but in the end there is only Jesus. He walked with me from the beginning. When the day was done, and everybody went home, it was just me and Jesus. We never have to walk alone. We have to understand that he was their in our beginning at birth. He will be there at our end. He is there holding us through every sickness and pain.

Q: What did you learn from these moments of adversity?
A: 1.    Everybody need prayer.
     2.    Never ignore someone's cry.
     3.    A friend is someone that will pray for and with you.
     4.    Never doubt, Jesus is always there.
     5.    The strongest medicine you have is the word of God.
     6.    Trust God fully.
     7.    Affliction is just for a moment.
     8.    Jesus is always there.
     9.    Pray long before you go through any time of testing.
     10.  Talk to God constantly.

What else can you share with others that might help them get through their adversity?
Isaiah  53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

2 Kings 6:17 Lord Open Our Eyes

Kings 6:17

And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

I pray Lord, that you open my eyes that I may see what you want me to see, and I may know what you want me to know. Not only my eyes, but also the eyes of the reader that they might see what you want them to see, know what you want them to know. In Jesus' name. Amen.
We are sometimes blinded by the things that are around us by the things that are in front of us. You know, like, can't see the forest for the trees.

It is very important that our spiritual eyes are open and that we see correctly the things that are around us. It is the enemy's job to blind us. His job is to put us off course. He is there to challenge our faith in God. He will challenge us in Gods ability to protect and keep us.
We can't always see things that God is doing for us.

There is a song by AndraƩ Crouch called "Got Me Some Angels Watching Over Me". He describes angels of protection,
"they may not be in robes of white, but in armor ready to fight".
We have often seen the depictions of the soft angels on robes, but in the last few years we have seen angels in battle armor, more rightfully so.
The young lad in this scripture obviously had eyes to see. However all he could see, was the host gather against the prophet

Our perception of this world is often skewed by the things of this world. The things of the world with lights, bells and whistles will draw us in so that hidden from us are the true and& real things.
In this passage the prophet prayed.
Who knew that prayer could be such an eye opener.
Prayer will give you sight where there is no sight. It will give you vision where there is no vision.
People who always pray seem to have the vision long before everyone else. Without a vision of what is to come people perish.

A simple and very direct prayer the prophet prayed. Lord I pray thee open the eyes of the young lad. Immediately his eyes were open. He now had the knowledge of what was really around him. Fear left him. His confidence restored.

Lord open our eyes!

1 Corinthians 13:1 True Love

1 Corinthians  13:1

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

Love that gives unsparingly is true love.

Love that  gives unselfishly is true love.

Love that gives without condition is true love.

We say we love?

Where is the Love

Don't just show the love.

Give the love!

Acts 10:31 What God Sees

Acts 10:31

And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.

A God that hears our prayers and recognizes our giving. What does this verse and of scripture allow us to see?

What is the extended vision of this passage?

We see a God that is actively looking over the prayers and godly deeds of everyone.
Within my structure of my faith,  I was taught to pay tithes and offerings. I was also taught to pray. I have heard many of the messages of seedtime and harvest and I believe them. My teachers would be happy to see my record, though not perfect. I have been moved many times to give more than I could afford. Even so, after I gave, all of my obligations were still met. God was there looking at what I prayed and what I gave. He then gave me increase.

Cornelius received the word of the Lord and received the Holy Spirit. He and his whole household were saved that day. What was astonishing to the onlookers, they were "Gentiles".
God takes the prayer and giving to extend to Corneilus and his household eternal life. How much more room will our gifts and prayers make room for us? What will God do with your prayer and giving?

Jeremiah 33:3 Just Simply Pray

Jeremiah  33:3

Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
I will simply say that God is only a prayer away.

Why do others always try to convince me that I have to meet a standard to pray. I have to put the "thou's and thee's" in all the right places. I also have to dot all of the  i's  and cross all the  t's To me that is a weak God who doesn't know the weaknesses of his children. Who so loves the world that he gives, but who is to occupied to give audience to my call. Perhaps, I'm naive to think that I have a hotline to heaven or to think that God is too busy to hear my faintest call. This verse suggest a much more far greater God. One who is all knowing. He shows those who call out to him,

1. Great and mighty things.
2. Which you have no knowledge.

He will show you things that are above your thinking. He will show you things that are beyond your grasp. He will let you in on things that no one else knows or can figure out.
How great is our God?

Psalms 34:8 The Crave Only God Can Satisfy

Psalms  34:8

O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

I woke up one Saturday morning to go pay my utility bills. Not too many of the stores were open.
I really began to crave for some Kentucky Fried Chicken. I pulled into the lot just to see their opening times. I was about an hour early. I went on to pay all of my bills. I really couldn't shake the craving I was having. I could almost taste it in my imagination.
As I pulled into the lot again I saw a long time acquaintance cleaning the lot before the store opening. I told him of my craving and that I would try to go to another restaurant way across the city. I really wasn't expecting what was about to happen. He looked at my brother who had been with me all the time and said, let me go in and see what I can do for you. He came out with two large breasts compliments of the manager. The chicken was piping hot and fresh and out of the fryer. It was perhaps the best chicken I ever tasted in my entire life.

The craving is what brought me there, but the blessing of the Lord is what afforded me the craving to be satisfied. I thank God for the opportunity to show me that he knows how to satisfy my longings and desires.
Psalm 34 is a gold mine of scriptures of the Lord watching out for his children.
There are times that our spirit craves  the Lord. No matter what we try to substitute it with, it will not satisfy the taste in our mouths or the hunger in our souls. We attempt to satisfy it entertainment or the crowd. We may try to substitute it with everything but the right thing.
O taste and see that the "LORD" is good. It is the Lord that is good.
He is satisfyingly delicious. He satisfies the longing in the soul.
More than that piece of chicken which satisfied my fleshy cravings, only God can satisfy the longing in the soul.

Numbers 23:19 His Word Is His Bond

Numbers  23:19

God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

The promises of God are for those who will stand with God and trust God to do just what he says he will do. This scripture is an assurance that God will do just what he says. The question is, will you trust God no matter what you see hear or feel?

Real knowledge comes from God. Everything else is subject to the scrutiny of others. Human knowledge is good, but it will only go so far. God is all knowing. He knows everything from beginning to ending. He knows the future, he knows the past. There is not anything that he cannot see, hear or know.

God is nothing like man. It doesn't matter the contract that man make he is capable of breaking it. First intentions are always good. When honoring the contract man will fail. God's promises are yay and nay .

Man can lie and will lie. Some will just not keep their word.
Lastly, if God made you a promise, whether personality or by his word, it "will" come to pass.

Lamentations 3:22 Great Is God's Faithfulness

Lamentations  3:22

It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

One of the scriptures that has made the difference in my life is Lamentations 3:22-24.

Jeremiah is speaking to me through his tears. He reaches through the generations and say,
My child, you don't have any problems that God cannot handle. The enemy of God would have consumed you many years ago. He would chopped you into a thousand pieces, set your soul on fire. He would engaged you in a lot of useless activity that led to nowhere. You would have been enslaved to endless circles of addiction. He would have had you on a timeless journey to nowhere that would have taken all of your time. However, he provided new mercies every morning. He instead set you on a righteous path. He established your way and ordered your steps. Even if you did get involved with addictions he would have established a way of escape. In your darkest hours of your life his compassions were your only rest. His compassions did not come back empty handed. They accomplished what they were sent to do. They did not fail. Every time you had an issue he was there always on time and faithful to the cause.

I cry for all of the people that will not take advantage of his goodness, mercy, and grace. They are going through unnecessary problems . Just for future references, find God's mercy in ever circumstance. They will be new every morning.
