For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
Moments... Q&A
Q: Was there a moment when all of this adversity almost overwhelmed you.
A: Yes, I came to my wits end and could not go any further. I became desperate for an answer. I had to seek God.Q: Did any of your friends help you?
A: They tried, but no one seemed to care. It wasn't their issue. They were not facing my dilemma. There were those who were concerned like Job's friends were in the bible.
Q: Did your friends help you at all?
A: They got me to see that it was Jesus I had to depend on, and no one else. Like Job, in all my appointed time I had to wait until my change came .
Q: Were your family there for you?
A: Well...they didn't want to see me in pain, but..when it came down to it, I had to depend on Jesus. Sometimes in this world we think that others are walking with us. Well...sometimes we have to walk alone.
Q: Was there anybody there for you?
A: Yes but in the end there is only Jesus. He walked with me from the beginning. When the day was done, and everybody went home, it was just me and Jesus. We never have to walk alone. We have to understand that he was their in our beginning at birth. He will be there at our end. He is there holding us through every sickness and pain.
Q: What did you learn from these moments of adversity?
A: 1. Everybody need prayer.
2. Never ignore someone's cry.
3. A friend is someone that will pray for and with you.
4. Never doubt, Jesus is always there.
5. The strongest medicine you have is the word of God.
6. Trust God fully.
7. Affliction is just for a moment.
8. Jesus is always there.
9. Pray long before you go through any time of testing.
10. Talk to God constantly.
What else can you share with others that might help them get through their adversity?
Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
