Matthew 18:20 He Is With Us

Matthew 18:20

For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

I love when the people of God come together. There is nothing like it in the whole wide world. I love when there are no big i's, and no little u's, but all come together for the glory and the honor of the Lord.

It does not take a crowd of ten thousand people to bring God in the midst. It only takes two or three in agreement. Agreeing that we are here to worship and honor the Lord God, agreeing that he alone is worthy of all honor and praise.

I saw a video on YouTube that depicted this verse in scripture. In the comment a gentleman stated that there is no where in the bible where you can find this nonsense going on. I suppose that he thought that the service to which he was accustomed to going was more in line with what actually the type of service that was found in the bible. He stated that all the praise and worship was just emotionalism. I imagined going to his service and expecting to see a corpse in the building. I am not making light of his form of worship, I am saying that all worship is worship based upon our cultural experiences. Perhaps he thought of himself as more refined, and it does not take all of that type of carrying on.

Given to us, is what we bring to the Lord in honor and praise of who and what he is.

The gentleman who made the comment would probably be turned off by Jewish dancing, I do not know.

The scripture is clear. Two or three gathered together in his name. In the manner of honoring the Lord; in the manner of showing forth praise; in the manner of giving God our hearts is where he will inhabit the praise of his people.
